IHrookie, I have no idea where you are but location plays a very different situation. I myself live in northwest central Ohio and where I am there are none left of very few. I work with the Amish in northeastern Indiana. Indiana is the state with the 3rd largest amount of Amish with Ohio being the largest Amish state followed by Penn at second, a lot think Penn is first. Anyway with the Amish in Indiana they are now wanting 4 row planters that can be set to 30" rows and those IHC planters are the only ones that can be set for that and that were avaible with the clutch lift. Deere never made a planter of that size with the clutch lift as it would only narrow down to 36" rows. A lot of the farms hire a combine to harvest so they have to go with what the custom harvestors have and that is the 30" row and there is a lot of pop corn also raised there and the pop corn company only can harvest the 30" rows. Just a guess I would say there are 20-30,000 Amish farms in that area of Indiana so demand is high. They have to have the clutch lift to use the planters with their horses so no hydrolicks. So in that area the price is still up in that range of $800 without fertilizer to $1,000 with fertilizer as far as I know. 2 year ago I took one of them to as sale to buy one and I think he paid $975 for it plus hauling and this year put $200 more in repair. There is a dealer in the area that has several of them always, do not know where he gets them but last I knew he was up in that price range, may be higher now, don't know. Now if that planter was setup for hydrolick lift it would only be parts price. The Amish close to home here in Ohio are still using the 2 row horse drawn planters but over in the Holmes Co. area they are allowed to use the hydrolic lift that is manually operated so the prices there are not as high I would think. So it all comes down to where you are at as to the value. A lot of the country they would all go to scrap so value could varry quite a bit.
