Looking at your pictures, I would have to say it is an F620 since it appears to have trip bottoms and 4-bolt wheels. Mine has the optional large tail wheel while yours looks to have the standard small wheel. You can compare it to my JD F620 in the attached pictures. Al

Yes it is an IH wheel weight. It was on the plow when I got it and I left it on. You do need it to plow dry red clay especially if your shares have some wear. Al

Looks like (on that tractor), the plow hitch is too low.
The 2 vertical flat plates that mount to plow hitch to the plow frame can be adjusted to a higher setting..
Would be a good idea to reverse that cylinder, so the main body will not move every time you drop or raise the plow..

Nice find..!!

By the way, what model tractor do you have there?

Looks like about a perfect size for what I would like to do.

Thanks.

Thanks for the help. I was having some problems with it behind the tractor it is hooked up to right now, of course it is a 53 HP tractor; I think that is a little too low but my wife wanted me to get out there and at least try.

I used my Oliver 1755 a couple years ago with this plow and hardly knew I was pulling something, it worked great. But unfortunately right now my 1755 needs a ton of work.

Thanks again.

It's a JD 6230. Has 75 PTO HP and 95 engine HP. In my tough red clay ground it takes the 4-wheel drive. I also have a JD 830 2-cylinder but 4-16s are a little to much for it in my ground, especially packed corn land. If you only have a 53 HP tractor, I would say 4-14s might be a little much to pull in clay ground. My 4-16 F620 plow would stop my Oliver 770 in its tracks if I tried to pull it. The F620 is a nice plow and all wear parts are available from JD. Al

Maybe not much work.

53 horse, on a 3x14" should be more than plenty..
I have pulled 4x16 well, with a 48 horse JD 630 in well established Alfalfa/Jack-Wax..

It is pretty easy to swing those front (plow) hitch mounts to a higher position..just get the bolts loose is about all..

I could see in the picture what I thought was some of your plowing and figured I would add my .02 ...

Have fun, plowing is generally relaxing..!!

Yes that's an F620H. They're good plows and were built starting in 1961.

I've got a manual for that plow for $15 if you'd be interested in all of the particulars of making the proper adjustments and pulling as easy as possible.
