One way cylinder hookup to a DC CASE

My 1952 CASE has the double hydraulic pump--one for the onboard eagle hitch and the other for the remote cylinder..two couplings. If I were to hook up a wagon with hoist ...this has one hose, gravity lets it down. How do I hook up the hose? Do I hook up to either coupling? Or does the oil have to return somehow...via the same hose?
Also, I bet I have to change the hose coupling on the wagon to a CASE coupling...I bet they are not compatible?

Plug it into which ever hose you want. To get a faster result, run the other hose back into the bottom, where your Eagle hitch cylinder goes. We"ve done that for 40 years that I remember.

Hook to either hose on the tractor, the only difference will be which way the lever moves to lift. When lowering it won't work the relief valve so hard if you just move the lever JUST enough to lower the box. If you still have case couplers on the tractor you will have to change either the wagon or tractor couplers. Unless you want to keep the tracor original I would recomend changing the tractor to Pioneer couplers. That is the norm now and they are easier to use than the old case. You will have to change hoses too on the tractor tho since the case ends have a special thread that I've never been able to adapt to pipe thread..
