barn find parts

I found these items today in Dad's old shop. I have no idea what they go to, or what they are. I assume the wooden pieces are bearing halves. Hat is for perspective, I know what it is! LOL

No manufacturer or part number on these, but forked pieces marked with Patent June 11, 1901.

I would like to find somebody who could actually put these to use if possible. They're no good to me, but won't give away to antique collectors.

Thanks for your help!

The bearings look like the ones from a Dunham disk that I have 2 of. They are not from a dunham cultimulcher as those are a hex sided bearing. If you can give measurements I could tell for sure if for the Dunham disk.

The forks look like they could be from an old old hay rake or possibly a hay tedder. Wish I knew how to scan pictures and post. The hole in the bearing is for a protrousion in the bearing housing to keep them from turning in the housing.

ABG,

Except for the hat, I don't really know anything about the parts. But, in my total ignorance, I ask.

Is it possible that the fork things could be hinged together at the top to form a grapple for lifting loose hay? Just a thought.

Bearings are for a disk harrow, have replaced many of them. They came in sets one with a hole for the top
one without a hole for the bottom. The hole on top
lined up with the grease fitting in the bearing holder.

I am wrong, both bearings had holes, they set over detents to prevent the bearings from spinning.Top had grease fitting through the detents.
