NH 275 baler

going to look at a NH-275 baler, ,just need to know are they a good baler how old are they, ,what to look for thanks cdv

275 is a good baler.Made in early/mid 70s.Fairly common,lots of parts are still available.

Any machine as intricate as a baler, which may have seen 45 summers, probably has some issues. That said, the 275 is a pretty good machine as other posters indicated. Condition and play in plunger and feeder carriage bearings are important. What is left of the chamber floor? Can the seller show you what kind of bale it makes? This sounds elementary but does it look like its been taken care of (greased, shedded, and seasonally cleaned) versus parked out behind the barn with two bales of hay in the chamber over the winter.

neighbor has a 275 and its been very reliable. good parts availability. i helped them stack 3000 bales and it never missed a bale. only thing i think of is that it is a bit slow and does NOT like large windrows. they raked with an 8 wheel V rake and in first cut its to much for it. but if your not in a big hurry it is a great machine.
