The roller on my New Idea baler broke near the center of the tube. What is the best way to repair? Also the bearing spun on one of the stub shafts. weld up and turn the shaft then have a bushing made that just sides in the broken halves then weld? The broken ends are torn and bent so these would need to be straightened.

one broke in my 484 baler couple of years ago. took it to the local machine shop, they cut ends off welded them to a new piece of tubing, after squareing them up. about 300.00 I think. worked like new.

On my old Vermeer the dealer doesn't even stock them, $400. He sends you to a machine shop, first one was $120, 2nd was $150, they make them from scratch off the busted one.

Like the others, I also have a local machine shop that just makes them. I haven't needed one yet but a few others in the area have. I've never heard of one being more then a few hundred bucks, and that one was a complete new copy from the old one.
