Hey Guys, have a question regarding the wobble box on a NHS 479. Been cutting some pretty tall grass due to the heavy rains in south Texas. Looks like the wobble box locked up. Replaced all the bearings last year and it is always lubed up. Just wondering if anybody has ever run into this problem. Going to get to it this evening and just wanted to see if I could get a bit of insight. Thanks

I searched classic view for 479 wobble box and received 87 hits. Could be some useful info there.

Yeah, guess it is kind of hard to believe that the wobble box would "lock-up". I need to dis-engage the blade to see for sure. Will do it soon, Thanks for the comment.

Finally disengaged the sickle blade and the "lock-up" appears to be in the center hub; I believe it has bearings on the inside and on the out. Can't believe that they would lock up.

Finally was able to get into the wobble box. Everybody pretty much said that it could not lock up. Let me tell you, it sure can. Especially if there is a clog and it does not get any grease. The bearings on the shaft were shot. I am getting a rebuilt wobble and shaft assembly. For about a gran!!!!
