NW Iowa Tornados

Hope everyone is ok up north. Not much happening here in Sac County. Looks bad north though. News says a mile wide tornado is on the ground hidden by rain around Cherokee. Fixerupper i hope your still standing!!

That's unusual having a tornado up there isn't it, especially one a mile wide?

tornado's in the upper midwest are not uncommon but having one in October is.

We get big bad ones just like you guys do. Usually they dont come in October but with the weather being so strange this year, seems like anything can happen. Remember the one a few years ago that leveled the town of Parkersburg, IA? That was an F5.

Tornados are more common in the middle of summer here.

The really bad destructive ones seem to be too early or too late for a 'normal' tornado, they are during unusual weather when the heat from your area crashes into the cold from up here in a more dramatic fashion that 'normal'.

Most of ours are in the spring. Tell you one thing. Absolutely no way would I live in central Oklahoma.

Few years ago one went through a town 50 mile from me think it was in October and it was imediatly followed up with a snow storm, digging threw the ruins in snow.
