Any opinions does it make a tight bale?
Bale weights? Pros and cons? Scotty

They can make one so tight the cows have to bite the Hay off or so loose they will collapse when you eject the bale. All hydraulic adjustment. Good balers.

I second what kyhayman said. The only issue with them is they are older now, and older equipment has issues...I made bales so tight with a 650 you couldnt get the hay dry enough...it was packed that tight it wouldnt breath...

There a good baler easy to use and make good tight bales. Ive had no problem getting parts for it. Most i can import to Ausralia for less an as quick form messicks as what our local dealer 30min away does

The 654 is a great baler but when dealing on a used New Holland baler of this design always check the condition of the sledge gears. They are the drive gears for the rollers in the bale cradle. Replacing them is tedious work and expensive. A lot of these balers are sold / traded in when these gears have exceeded their lifespan.
