nh 565 square baler question

Can anyone tell me how to get the final bales out of a square baler when done baling the field? I tried loosening the tension springs but those bales are held in there very tight. Is there some sort of release mechanism? Thanks.

I stick a 2' piece of 4"X4" in front of the plunger...make sure it's straight then run baler at idle one stroke. Yoy just need to push the last bale past the wedges.

I loosen the tension all the way when I have 4 or 5 bales left to bale. Generally the last couple of bales are so loose and sloppy you can drag them out.

If all else fails, just cut the strings and pull them out a slab at a time!
PS: I'm one of them lazy slackers that just leaves the old bales in the chamber! They'll come out when I start baling again! But then again, my baler is always shedded, so the old bales don't rot in the chamber!

What Brian says will work, or if you didn't plan ahead just take all the tension off, then cut two bales open and feed them. The last will be so loose it will pull right through.

We usually run 1-2 bales of dry straw through it when we are done for the season. Will not rust chamber like some hay will. Leave it in there and store baler in shed. I guess that goes without saying.
