new holland 66 baler knotter

we have baled with a NH 66 baler for many years but this year in a hurry i put the twine in upside down ended up causing several knots in the twine before it got to the needles. we fixed the twine and now the old baler won,t knot at all sometimes the knots hang sometimes no knot or knot only on end of 1 string nothing consistent tried setting all the clearances on the knotter but still won't tie we even replaced the wood slides on the plunger to tighten things up but still no tie

I would turn it over slowly by hand with the knotter tripped and watch what happens at every stage of the tie cycle and see if you can tell what's going wrong. Something may have been bent with the knots going through it.

Check the twine finger action - should go from parallel to chamber to a full 90 degrees at maximum actuation. Rod that actuates twine fingers may have become twisted/bent.
