PTO shaft shield parts

I have a Bush Hog model 287 with a Comer T60 PTO shield. I need to repair the shield and am in need of a few safety shield parts. Any one have any Idea or knowledge of who I can contact. I googled..but the responses were not all that helpful. Thanks

Thanks, called, but they don't handle Comer parts. Suggested that no one may handle spare parts in the US...made an inquiry across the boarder in Canada. Bush Hog wants to sell me a complete shield..no parts. I checked their on-line parts book... yup..they list only a few parts...but I guess don't sell them anymore.. if you want the "end cone" you need to buy the complete shield assembly...for 150 bucks plus freight. Fascinating.
 
Bush Hog dealer, limited help. Bush Hog, no help... unless I wanted to buy the whole damn shield assembly. Got the original manufacturer to send me the link where I could retrieve the parts catalog. They will point me to a dealer once they get my parts request. Some people lament on how much "GREEN" costs. However, if my rotary mower were "GREEN" i doubt I'd have this much work to do...for a couple of simple parts. I asked the Bush- Hog AGCO dealer what most people do when the shield of a rotary mower "comes apart"... he said run it without one, but he wouldn't recommend it.. Libility and all. Come to think of it, I can't remember ever seeing a used rotary mower/brush cutter with an intact safety shield in place.

You could irritate yourself some more and try giving them a call, or, perhaps a whole new driveshaft from Surplus Center would be cost-effective?
