Rotary Cutter Direction

I have a Ford 941 5' rotary mower and I need new blades. I have found aftermarket blades that match the dimensions of the blades on the unit at a fraction of the price of CNH blades, but I want to be sure of the cutting rotation. WHen a rotary mower blade in the catalog says for clockwise or counter clockwise direction, is that from the top looking down at the mower, or is it lying on the ground looking up at the mower? Thanks for the help.
 
Good question! I think a standard mower is clockwise, when viewed from the top. I know when I grind mine on the bush hog, I'm grinding the left side of the blade, when seated behind the machine. In other words, when you hold the blade with mounting hole up, the cutting edge is on the left, on a standard rotation machine.
 
OK, I'm asking the question wrong maybe. I know what direction mine turns when I look at it, and I know what the blade looks like, I'm trying to understand what is industry convention on CW or CCW (is it from above or below?) because a lot of the blades are sold as CW or CCW with no picture/description beyond that on which side of the blade is sharpened.
