Allis Chalmers Roto Baler

Does anyone still use one of these old balers? I have 5, 2 that run and 3 for parts and usually bale 2000 bales per season in native hay and alfalfa.

I am starting to find it hard to find any twine that will fit in the twine can. Anybody have any sources?

Wouldn"t the thin, 16,000 foot rolls be much like the binder twine that we used years ago? I used the 16,000 on my New Idea big round baler.

Amish store that I was just in last week has it right out on the shelf. Don't have the name or address now but can get it in the next week or so if you are interested. Did not have the price on the shelf so do not know how much it is but I think they will ship. They have there own catalogs, 3 different ones avaible.

It's similar but the balls are too big around. TSC in Sioux Falls had regular roto baler twine available a few years ago.

You can use the 16000 but have to either make a new twine box or fasten another next to the original. I have seen a 5 gallon pail work for a guy. I make a few bales from time to time for the fun of it. I currently have two running balers, two project balers and several parts balers.

Thanks
Jim

Here in Mo. The tractor supply store has it in the hardware section in with the roaps and string. It is for a corn binder, wheat binder and also fits the roto-baler. The balls are 2250 feet and $20.00 each. hope this helps.

I read the post on here in regards to locating roto baler twine ,started a search;couldn"t find any.I did talk to an individual that orders twine for a big farm store,he said that everything points to the company that used to make the twine was located in Brazil and had been sold. Good luck I have a roto baler myself and when I use my last ball will be trying 16,000 twine ,should work with a sharp knife. hth ernie

We use a 5 gallon bucket tied on to the old twine box. We run 2, have 1 for parts and 1 is a #10 (not used or parts)
