I need new bale resister plates for my 303 square baler. AGCO says NLA. Does anybody make any aftermarket? Would it be okay to make a new pair out of pipe and plate or are they a special grade of steel?

We bought new ones for our Massey 12 a few years ago from ago. Not sure what brand a 303 is. Could probably buy some for another model and make them work.

oops! I originally posted this on the Allis Chalmers forum and I forgot to include the brand name.

I walk pass my 200 that I have been parting out and it still has two plates, a lot of other models parts fit a 303. They don"t look hard to make out of 10 gauge. How much do you have left of the old ones? Enough to copy from to make them? Just open your vise up a little and place over opening, heat were the rounds shapes should be and tap it with a ball peen hammer to the right shape, drill holes to fit and paint it orange. Just be careful not to burn yourself with the hot parts!

I have enough left to copy. Somewhere I saw guy making them out of flat plate and pieces of pipe cut at an angle. I was just hoping to find some decent used ones because one of mine is just about worn flat the other side is a little bit better but not much. There are a couple indentations left that are solid enough to give me a size

I made my own for my JD 24t, heavier than the original were. They work well. I can see making them from pieces of pipe cut at an angle. I created the "cheese grater" looking piece from trangles of metal bent down the middle and then welded to a piece of sheet. Never looked down the throat of the make you have but would guess they are all basically the same.
