I'm not overly familiar with the 700... but on the older models you have an inner shoe that can be raised quite high and the rest of the half moon shoes all need to be equal height. I don't recall if there was a high lift available or not. I'd suggest looking in the ops manual or the parts book and see what's listed. Personally I think for the height you want simply rolling the top link out a bit would get you there... as long as it doesn't make the outer rear end of the bar drag and wear.

If that's all they call for, install them as recommended... As far as rolling the bar rearwards... what will happen is it wears the nuts off the shoe retainer bolts... and can wear a hole in the outer rear end of the pan. That's if it's on a severe rearward tilt. I sometimes roll mine back if I'm in a rough or rocky field as it will skip over a lot more problems that way.
