Case T-10 mower

I have a Case T-10 mower (the T stands for trailer type) and am fabricating a new sickle bar. I have a lot of play in the connection to the pitman, so while I have it a part I want to tighten that up. I was thinking about heating it and trying to bend it closer to the ball, but I don't want to weaken it. Next, I thought about getting a sheet of brass, then hammering and bending it around the ball, cut off the excess and placing it over the ball like a brass bearing. Drilling holes for the zerk and hopefully that will work. What do you think?

If you have play between the knife head and the clamps then something is wore out, should be spring tightning, and if that is what you have then the clamps are likely to pop off the head and do more dammage. New ends should be avaible. But that shim you are thinking about will just pop out.

Where can I find a new end? What is it called? I'll try the local CaseIH dealer, but I think its discontinued, or obsolete.
