New Holland 67 baler

Years ago when Steve from New Holland was on here I remember him telling about removing the pipe between the feeder fingers for the bale chamber. For those of you that have removed the pipe do you have any issues with the fingers pulling any hay out of the chamber when they moved back out of the chamber?

Thanks.

I don't have the answer to your question, but was wondering why the bar was removed, what problem it solved. I worked on NH balers and had never heard of doing that. Was it just on the smaller balers?

Apparently when things got worn a bit sometimes the tines would jump over the pipe and bind up. You can guess what would happen after that.

Do you mean those bars that hold the hay down as its
being picked up by the fingers?
If so then I find them to be important to getting a
good square bale of hay. I replaced all of my
fingers this year and put a new spring on those
bars. I got nice bales this year and very few broken
ones.
