Does anyone know when this planter was made and is it a good planter? What does the F stand for? Can you still get seed plates for it? How wide close can you set them for using as a twin row? I see they still have manuals on it. But didn't find much on the internet. Always great to get info from someone that had or is using the equipment. Thanks for any input on it!

I don't think anybody knows what a 23 planter is. Never heard of that number. Is it a lister or bedder planter? Some other specility planter? Vegitable planter? Not something that was used in the corn belt.

I'm not sure about the 23-F I think they where used as front mount planters that fit on the cultavators on the 520, 530 tractors. They where used more in the south. I have a set of 23-C planters that are on a Pittsburg frame. They do well, but I don't think they would be capable of setting close enough to be used as twin row units. John Deere plates are available and can be found on ebay and at a lot of equipment actions. I hope this helps and if I'm wrong with any information here someone please correct me.
