Front Adjustment on a New Holland Rake

The adjustment you referred to changes the angle that the teeth touch the hay. The higher the adjustment on the rake the more lift the teeth give to the hay. This adjustment has some affect on roping the windrow.

Jim is correct. The higher the front is lifted, the
more the hay gets lifted up and it will leave a
windrow that is more fluffed up. If you want a more
packed windrow, then move the front setting lower.

Many times the adjustment won't be changed much, but if you want the windrows fluffy you will move up the front. If the wind is blowing your windrows all over then you can lower the front to make the windrow more compact. Mike
