WHAT SEED CLOSELY RESEMBLES MILO IN SIZE?
that is the size of haygrazer/gotcha grass/sorgum sudan grass. I hope to plant 12 acres of it tomorrow.
Which most closely resembles it for size
Millet, Rye, flax, hemp, buckwheat, Barley, Rice.

It also, at the bottom, has
THIS SCALE FOR OTHER SEEDS,
This scale goes from A to Z in increments. Says, see sowing table. I have a copy of the operators manual and theres nothing about other seeds. There is a seed conversion chart beside the above statement pecks into gallons, pecks into qts ect.

ALSO, there is cups at the bottom of the hopper underneath the box. They have each a adjustment gate that is set at 3 different settings, to allow bigger seed, I guess to get by at the same rate as the setting on the box for the particular seed being sowed.
On the page titled GRAIN SOWING TABLES, it shows the settings for these seeds
Lowest outside setting for beet seed. It has at the side
D E F G H I J
6in, 8, 11, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29
7IN 7 9, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25
8in 6 8 10 13 16 19 22

FOR COW PEAS, NAVY BEANS, ENSILAGE CORN, SMALL CANNING PEAS. These would be way bigger than milo seed, wouldn't you think.

The third setting is for kidney beans. Again id think way too big a seed to match milo seed.

Question is, What do the 6.7.8inches mean? AND the original question which seed most closely resembles milo seed? Im thinking Beet seed, mysself

Also, I don't know where to set the depth levers. I think its got between 4 and 6 notches it can be set at to regulate the depth the seed is planted/sown.

What brand of drill is it and how many pounds per acre of seed do you want?

The 6, 7, 8 is the inches between disk furrow openers (distance between rows)

Milo seed is a little smaller than vetch seed. Definitely smaller than cow peas. Milo is bigger than brown top millet. Not sure about the other millets.

How deep should your crop be planted? Set deeper if it isn't getting that deep; set shallower if it is planting too deep. Drive 100 feet and check... Different soils need different setting to get through hard or soft dirt. Depends on freshly plowed soft dirt, or planting into hard old cornstalk ground, etc.
