John Deere 916 MOCO main gearbox seal

im working on a JD Moco 916 main gear box for the cutting blades and cannot keep the oil seal from leaking , its not bad but always wet ;using JD parts ; anyone have trouble with this

I bought mine brand new, and it leaked the first time I used it. Come to find out the gear box was over filled by the dealer before I got it. They came out and replaced the seal under warranty and it has never leaked since. However I did install the optional shield that goes around that area to keep the hay off the seal and shaft, does yours have that?

Does gearbox vent happen to be plugged with debris??
