What is it worth? Rhino SE 5 Bush Hog

Gentlemen,

Does anyone have an idea what a used Rhino SE 5 Bush Hog would be worth in the N. E. Kansas area?

Is it a Rhino built by Bush-Hog, or are you one of the people that think all rotary cutters are Bush Hogs?

Now I know that bush hog is generic name, but some people over use the word.
Could you clear this up for me?

Larry,

That's a very good looking rotary cutter. As you undoutedly know, cutters like this come in at least three grades - light-weight, medium-weight, and heavy-duty. That looks to me like a medium-weight machine. I'd be proud to have it on my rough, hilly, overgrown farm. I believe that you could easily use it on saplings up to 2 inches in diameter.

Here in Middle Tennessee, I think that you could acquire one like that for $600 - $700.

Good luck with your decision.

Harvey, Servis-Rhino shredders are part of the Alamo Group and is not part of the Bush-Hog Co. at all!,, -> Google Servis Rhino, 3rd listing down, About us.
Yes Bush-hog was one of a handful of companies that have been building shredders from the start. So was Servis! The bush-hog term was coined because they Bush-hog Co Reps said their shredder would go through brush just like a Hog! So Bush-hogging land is = to a Cresent wrench for an adjustable wrench, = to a Vise-Grip pliers for any locking pliers!
Hope this helps!

Harvey,

I must confess my ignorance. I only know it is not a finish mower. The operators manual does call it a "rotary mower". I just checked and should have done that before I misspoke.

In your opinion, what do you think it is worth?

Thanks, Larry Wallace.

I just checked on external_link, there are 8 Rhino SE5"s listed ranging from $750 to $1495.

The one for $750 is listed at a JD dealership in Ellsworth KS.

The higher dollar one is in El Campo TX.

Hope this helps.

$1000 easy. 90% of use rotary mowers are just junk. That is an exceptional unit. Pay the money and get a quality mower. You buying or sellin?

GordoSD,

I was thinking of selling it. Not really sure of what I am going to do with it. I may use it for a few weeks. I'd hate to just let it sit.

Thanks!

just an okie,

Thanks. Yeah, I think I saw the one for $1495 and thought then that may be a bit high for my machine due to the lack of fresh shiny paint.
