JD 535 Bale Trak Monitor

I"ve got a 535 round baler and I"m working on the bale monitor. Is there a manual available for it? Or could someone describe the correct operation? There"s a toggle switch on the back, what"s it supposed to do? The buzzer doesn"t work so I"m replacing that. I bought the manual for the baler from John Deere but it doesn"t cover the bale monitor. Lastly, does someone have a wiring schematic for the monitor? I"d like to add an on/off toggle switch to kill the power to it when not in use, otherwise we have to pull the fuse from the tractor!

Thanks for the help!

It's be many years since I owned a 435 rd baler but I thought the wiring diagram was in the operators manual. I know wiring diagram will be in the tech manual. I'm thinking the switch on the back is an on/off switch.

I don"t think it"s an on-off switch since it"s a double pole and the lights on the monitor stay on either position. It might be to turn the buzzer off, which I wouldn"t know since the buzzer hasn"t worked since I got the baler. I"ll look through the owner"s manual again.

Thanks!

430 is right. Switch is for dimming for night time use.

You can check each function of the monitor by using a paper clip in the connector going to the baler (tractor side). One pin is ground and I do not remember which one, but trial and error will find it without any damage. Once you find the ground, use the paper clip and go to ground and each of the other pins, one at a time. Each pin should make the monitor do something.

There is a light bulb inside of the monitor. It is used for load for one of the functions (flashing yellow light). If it is burnt out, the light will not flash. (flashing light is for approaching bale size selected)
