Pulling a Buffalo cultivator with?

I"m thinking about trying a Buffalo cultivator (4-row wide)and am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what tractor lift capacity is needed for this implement.

Do you think my JD 2020 will pick it up?

I"m thinking a JD 4030 would be good to have for some of my other needs...does it have enough lift capacity? I think the tractor is big enough overall, but the lift arms, etc. look a bit on the small side. Any input would be appreciated.

it is a flex cultivator isn't it?if you are going to run 22 or 24" sweeps 100hp is nice, we could make an 1850 work a little with one, a 30 series is pretty poor for 3pt. lifting compared to other brands but it ought to pick up a 4600 series cultivator I would think, with the black Hiniker cultivators a 4430 wouldn't lift a 6 row but a 9/1066 Ih would lift an 8row

On a 4 row? 100 horse? Dang the old DC Case must really be turned up then.
I don't think a 2020 will have enough front end weight to pick it up, but I sure wouldn't hesitate to run it with a 4030.

A 4 row wide would mean that it is a 4 row row crop cultivator set up for 40" wows and there is no way you would be able to put that type of cultivator shovels in between corn rows. A 24" shovel is to wide to fit between the rows so you must be thinking of a different machine.

I know what a 4600 4rw Buffalo cultivator is. My dad had one and I had a black Hiniker when we ridge planted on wide rows and we ran 24 yes I said 24 inch sweeps on them. If you'd like to see them I still have a some I used on the Hiniker here

38-24=14, 36-22=14 so how does a 24" sweep fit between 38" rows or a 22 between 36 inch rows? That leaves 7" from the end of the sweep to the row. You need to get off the farm more.

We always ran with multiple sweeps and one single would have never worked in our ground. 6", 8" and 10" the size we used. And on 40" rows the sweeps cut a 18" space between the rows and there was 22" over the row between sweeps and you get any closer than that 11" center of shank from the row you were tearing out the corn stalks. Actually that 22" was to center of sweep so was down to actually 8" from row That left 5: from the fender to the sweep and you get less than that you were having it plug between the fenders and the sweep. That was the way the cultivator was set when it came from the dealer in 1944 and that setting was used untill we went to 30" rows in the mid 90's.
