Wisconsin Baler Engine Value

Hi guys it's Bryce. I have a Case NCM-T Baler for sale with a Wisconsin 4 Cylinder Air Cooled engine on the draw bar. It is in pretty sorry shape. The engine is complete, however it is stuck, and all together kinda ugly looking. :) A guy contacted me and said that he would be interested in just the engine, and whats to know what I want for it, what do you think? This may not be of much help, but around here one that is in running condition sells for $300.00 to $400.00.
 
Not much over scrap price. I sold a completely rebuilt about 10 years ago for $750. Had a starter.
 
you don't want to sit on a worn out baler you don't want and you have had limited calls on, especially after it's missing a major drive component. It might be a hassle to get rid of it and even if you part it out, you'll still end up with the bulk of it in your way so it might just go to scrap.

I would offer him the whole works for the same price. Let him deal with taking it apart and dispersing of the excess pieces. Also if something important to the buyer breaks during disassembly in your yard, you may end up with no money and a junk engine and baler.

If you have multiple calls on it for pieces, maybe you can split the machine between buyers.

Depends on what you want and how you feel.

Well I talked to the guy and he REALLY wants that engine, so I figured that if I sold him the engine then I could scrap the baler for $150 or so. When I talked to him on the phone he sounded like help would pay $100 for just the engine no problem! So he is coming out to my place tomorrow to see it, hope it goes well! Thanks, Bryce
 
I tied bales on a Case hand tie baler with a Wisconsin engine, in 1958, at the age of 10. I wouldn't give 25 cents for the whole miserable outfit. But that's just me. . .
