New Idea 217 spreader

Hello folks, I have a New Idea 217 manure spreader with the optional upper cylinder. The cylinder tooth bars are in need of replacing. I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for these. They are part numbers 202890, 202891(2 used), and 202892. My local Agco dealer is a Cat/MF dealer and they aren't of much help if you want parts for anything not in their current line of equipment.
 
I"m surprised that your local dealer won"t even order the parts for you...you"ve made their life easy by having the part numbers even, all they have to do is cash your check!

You might have to do some searching in your local area for scrap spreaders to rob parts off of, but you might find as I have that the parts worn to nothing on those spreaders are the same that are worn out on mine.

The 217 is for the single beater in the back, what size box do you have? 212, 213, or 214? I have a 213 with 217 beater that"s next on the fixup list.
 
Hello Kerwin, I also have the 213 box/217 beater combo. It's been on the farm since new and has been very reliable. We replaced the sides, floor, and apron chain about 10 years ago. Other than that, there has been no other significant repairs I can recall. I have looked at the tooth bars on salvage units and they look no better than what I've got already.
