John Deere 71 Planter Plate

I just bought a JD 71 Flex Planter and it came with one red plate that is 24 cells and has the number "H 2712 B" on it. I am going to use this for sweet corn and the seed company says to use a JD B6-16 or B6-24 plate which I see from Lincoln Ag. What seed plate do I have and will it work? Thanks

The H2712B is for "large round pointed corn" according to the Deere seed plate catalog. The B6 from Lincoln Ag Products would be the same as a H697B (16-cell) or B30070 (24-cell) and is designed for "extra small corn". So, the plate you have and the one the seed company is telling you to use are very different. Your 2712 plate would probably drop three or four kernels instead of just one.

Where are you at I got 6 of them out in my work shop if you are close i am in Tn. you can borrow them instead of buying

Your H 2712 B (Large Round Pointed Corn) cell size is 40/22/20 (40/64" long, 22/64" wide and 20/64" deep). This is comparable to the Lincoln Ag B0-16, BO-24.
The B6 cell is 32/11/20 which is comparable to the JD H 697 B (Extra Small Corn).

I found another set they are 16 cell we don't need them you can have them for free I don't think it would cost to much to send them i know it cost 10$ from Lincoln no matter how many you order if you want them give me a call 931 728 7190 nights or 931 235 4721
