Will these fit the 246 ?

Dave, did you get that 246 planter? I just went out and measured and the cast bottom for both the seed and fertilizer are 10" and that is what the base of the cans are. The early seed cans are the straight sided with two different lengths, did not measure that but what you are showing are the short cans. The later seed cans do have a funnel shape section to a round top part and I had considered but had not measured to be sure but was going to take the later type seed cans and pull then off the cast base and put them on the cast base for the fertilizer cans, they will be a bit shorter and bigger diameter than the orignal fertilizer cans. The orignal fertilizer cans also are easy to remove from that cast base and have a 2" tall funnel against the base of 10" to a top parte of the can of 12.5" and those larger late model seed cans would hold more fertilizer than the orignal fertilizer cans. And just use the seed lids to cover for storage. I have 4 of the 290 2 row and 2 of the 490 4 row planters here now wating their turn at rebuilding. The 290 will set down to 28" rows but the 490 will only set to 36" rows and plan on cutting frame down to where they will set on 30" rows as that is what they are wanting but they have to be clutch lift planters for the horses to be able to pull them. The larger seed cans are more avaible in the parts yards but good chances that the cast part of the fertilizer is still on planter even if fertilizer cans have rusted away.

Looking for plate under fertilize hopper for John Deere 247 or 447 planter that turns and pushes the fertilize out of hopper. Part number H 2173B, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks DDozier.
