Oliver 2 Row Corn Planter

buddy has an Oliver 2 Row Corn Planter
wants to know if parts are availabe, plates etc..
are they good planters etc..

Plates would be harder to find than for the Ford, 40 year ago had a Oliver 402 that was a for row version to compete with the 490 Deere and plates were not avaible at that time and the plates that I had none of the numbers matched anything from the seed companus and that was before the plateless. Traded it on a 494 Deere because of plate situation.

There were some late (1968-up) Oliver planters that used JD B-style plates and drives. My White 543 (red Oliver 543) is set up this way, and there was a 2-row planter that I can't remember the model number offered up to 1975 that used the JD plates. Older Olivers are impossible to find plates.

First of all what model 2 row? Do you have any plates now? If so what letters and numbers are on the plates you have/ I know were there are some in a barn.

I live in west KY and saw this oliver corn planter ad in our west ky craigslist
you do not see oliver corn planters too often.

your friend might give him a call, he might have extra planter plates he would sell

guess not everyone up/down the road has a oliver planter!!!!
