I have been trying to get this rotary mower painted for two weeks now but between the constant rain and 40 degree nights I ain't been able to get to it. Built this one from scratch excluding the obvious parts. Tomorrow Ill get the blades sharpened up and bolted on and maybe try it out.

I would suggest using replaceable bolt-on skid shoes on the side. They do wear out over time.

Also suggest reinforcing the side - where the blade will throw rocks against it. Runs clockwise, right? That would be the right side.

My Schultz hog is all battered up from rocks.

Otherwise, looks like a very professional job.

We don't have any rocks in my part of the state I live in the coastal plains of Georgia, go about two hours north and its a different story. The whole deck is 3/16 and the skids are AR plate to resist wear, if they wear out I think I can handle cutting a few welds and replacing it.
