Get a twisted clevis for drawbar and plow hitch should hook into clevis so when hitting a rock spring will let it trip, so as not to break shear points.

Brian, Without seeing a picture my guess is that it would be a JD 555. It could also be the newer JD F620. Does it look like the attached picture of my JD 555 plow? Al

Thanks AJB its identical to your 555. I just bought it for my jd 60 standard, hope it pulls it in our clay ohio ground.

And since the moldboards dont trip, i assume it shouldve came with a clevis syle hitch that someone obviously took off because it just hooks to drawbar with hitch pin now.

There were 3 dif. style hitchs used on stiff standard plows,(non-tripping);spring cushion;spring cushion trip style(like Mcoy's)& tractor clutch release (knee cap breaker) style.. check out PC-524 .. JD parts .com .....Some Rice plows used a stiff pin hitch.. like the trip bottom plows used...

Should pull it..as long as it is a Gasoline Only" 60 and GOOD Tires..
The 60 was really an improved JD "A", with about the same engine..only the dual-Throat induction and Live PTO were the difference..with a slight increase in Compression..
You will KNOW, when you get into some Dry Black-jack or yellow Wax...!!
I am in Ohio too..just North f Columbus..

The 620/630 have a smaller engine but have way more pulling power, stock..would not hesitate to hook a 4x14" (Mounted) to one of them..

They made a special (?) bracket to bolt on the end of the drawbar that had a round end like a clevis for the trip hitch to hook into. But a twisted clevis works the same way.

Here is something I'm working on to help guys ID their plows. I get so many calls for plow parts and only have so much time...so if the website can help eliminate the need to 20 questions over the phone much time would be saved.

McCoy,
Your plow appears to be a 66H, but if the land wheel is anything but an 18" on a factory spoke rim, you could possibly have a 55H Speial 4 bottom plow. I never knew these existed until I found what I thought was a farmer modificaiton at the neighbors house...not a weld or homemade item on the plow.

The plow looks nice in the pictures! It's certianly a real plus to have all 4 coulters.
