welded vertical straps, so the spring still has over an inch of movement but will not let the plow drop off..

Bryce, that appears to me to be a John Deere #52 plow, not a #44. I don't have any straight on shot's of one of my #44's but maybe this side shot will help a bit. It's stored in another location in a shed so not easy to get to this time of the year with the snow yet.

Man, does that 52 bring back memories. I sat ahead of one on an JD A for many hours plowing after school till bed time. Jim

There are about 4 different hitches for that 44 plow and each one is different in use so more information is needed. If the plow rides on 2 wheels when out of ground it will take one type of hitch, if it rides on 3 wheels it will take a different type, then if it is setup for use with the hand clutch Deere tractor it would take still a different type (also known as a knee knocker) then if for a different make such as a Farmall then still a different type of hitch so for any body to help you will have to have pictures showing both the hitch you have plus the back end of plow showing the tail wheel. The parts book is avaible on the Deere web site and it shows all the different hitches.

Chris. If you go to implement photo
section and search 44 plow there is a
parts break down of a hitch
