Help out an Eagle Scout

Hi everyone, I am a 14 year old Eagle Scout and I just started restoring tractors a couple of years ago. I have a whole mess of tractors ( Farmall, JD, MM, Case, AC, Ferguson) but just started looking for implements when I was hit with bad news. My neighbor passed away, however he left me every piece of farm equipment on the property. :) This includes everything from a horse drawn IH combine to a 1954 Ferguson TO-30. Anyway here is what I need. I am looming for values of all of these items should I decide to sell because mom doesn't want me to keep all of them! Here is about a sixth of the list, let me know what you think! Thanks, Tractor Dude
McCormick Deering Side delivery rake, works great but rubber tires are junk. 3 point Dearborn chisel plow, looks like it would work fine, has all of the teeth and springs. Large manure spreader, I THINK it is a Case it has a really funny looking draw bar and wood sides when I hook up to it to drag it home wheels didn't spin, right before I got home everything broke loose and started working! JD Vanbrunt drill, nothing on bottom, looks like a fertilizer box, wheels don't spin. This is just the start! Thanks again.

First of all congratulations on your windfall. My suggestion for you is to go to your scout master and ask him if he knows a local farmer that could and would help you. Not that you can't but I feel a 14 year old would need some assistance. For anyone to give you a price they would need to look at this machinery and also need to know a little bit of value in your area.
I would check but if that is a real horse drawn IHC combine you may have a ONE of a kind. Good Luck, hope mthis helps. ggp

This kind of stuff in nonworking condition is pretty much whatever scrap value is in your area. The Ferguson would be a different story if it is in usable shape. Do you really have a horsedrawn combine?

Hi Bryce, I am a Scout Master and would like to help you. There are; however, some people that try to scam all of us old rich farmers. Soooo If you post your Troop number and council, I will be glad to verify that you are who you say you are. I have had 100 Eagle scouts over the past 45 years. Remember, A Scout is trustworthy.

Thanks for the replies every one! It is for sure a IH horse drawn combine. It has one very large drive wheel underneath, a pan seat and huge wooden pickup reel. Next to it is a horse drawn sickle mower. I am keeping the Ferguson for sure, it runs drives and even has fluid in the tires. I plan on restoring that tractor as an "In Memory Of" for our neighbor. I just found another hay rake yesterday, I think that it is a JD on steel wheels, it is a side delivery. I has about 20 inch big trees grown up in and around it, and I couldn't even see it from the road! I am a for real Eagle Scout, no worries! I too am tired of being spammed on Craigs List! I got my Eagle 11/9/11, my number is 10254. I am in the Inland North West Council. Thanks again everyone! TractorDude

Oh okay cool! I don't know that much about combines, binders, and threshers. I know for a fact that it has the wooden pick up reel a sickle bar right underneath it, and then a wooden chain drive conveyor belt right behind the sickle, quite a complex machine! What would it do? Cut the grain and then tie it together so that it could be hauled to the thresher? I will try to get a picture today, but it is raining cats and dogs and my mom wont want me to get her $500 camera wet. :)

I called the Inland Northwest Boy Scout Council this AM. I can confirm that Bryce is a Eagle Scout and that he and his father are well known by that office. OK Bryce, you are among friends --- how about some picturs. Ed
