I need a medium duty cutter under 1000lbs. They crazy thing is that all manufactures are turning the medium duties into near heavy duty units. They offer smooth decks but have very high side walls requiring more steel thus increasing the weight. I have a BH 286 which i love but you no longer can get. I don't like the new 296 as its a massive piece of equipment and too much for my ford 3910. The only unit i can find now like the 286 is a Land Pride RCR2672. Anyone have one of these? If so how do they cut pasture? Can you go low and get a good cut? 75% of what i do is pasture and 25% is cutting saplings and brush so i want a stout unit. Just have no experience with Land Pride. A friend of mine has a Deere MX-6 which cuts grass like a finish mower. It cuts truly amazing but he did loose a gear box when it was 4 years old with about 70 hours on it. Thats a little scary to me. Please let me know what you think.
