I need some help. I recently purchased an IH 200 spreader. It is in good shape and everthing workks as it should. The only problem is that the previous owner started replacing the chain. I have some new chain and tabs, "S" of course, and the bars. I have ordered a manual and an awaiting delivery, but would like to get a head start on parts to make it completely operational. As far as I know it is supposed to have 15 bars, all of which, I have. Can some one advise how many links go between each bar and how many total there are supposed to be. If they could also confirm that it is in fact 15 bars as well. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Forrest

I have a IH 100 spreader and their are 5 links between the crossbars in the floorchain. My chain has 9 crossbars being a smaller spreader.

Forrest---Checked my spreader to make sure---There are 13 slats on a Mod 200 spreader---and there are 5 links between the slat links. If you happen to need certain other parts for this spreader, I might have what you are looking for.

Wow Cienna! That's a gorgeous spreader. IMO the McD/IHC 200 was the best shredding spreader ever made. Mine is down for anpron chain change right now. Great spreader and yours is a thing of beauty!

BRET----If you change the chain to #67, you"ll have to change the sprockets as well. #67 chain WILL NOT work on "S" sprockets without damage being done.

Yeah, I know. The changing the sprocket part is why it's taking so long. The idlers on the front are easy. The 2 drive sprockets are the hard part.

Bret - I"ve been trying to get my old spreader working again. It still has the "S" chain but needs an idler sprocket. Could you or anyone else contact me if there is an old one available?

Thx DAVE

Valu- bilt used to list entire "S" apron chains. They may have the idlers too.

This might help= http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=implment&th=68582%3E

Many Thanx, I wasn't sure where to find this type of sprocket (for "S" chain) since I've been told by my local IH -Case shop that something this old is off the books and not available.
