International 480 disk

Blacksmith in Fremont, NE used to convert 480's to hydraulic fold. His kits were a copy of what was used on the 485's. He still had a lot of parts left last time I was in his shop but that has been a number of years ago.

I didn't have a 480 but did have a 490. It was a good disc but traded it for a 496 and that was a lot better. If you are going to buy a 490 try and get a later model with the heavy rockshaft. Some of the early one with the lighter rockshaft had problems. It's easy to tell the difference if you see them side by side. Also the pin holes in the linkage that connects the main rockshaft to the wing rockshaft tend to wear and get sloppy. After the 496's had been out for a few years the 490's got really hard to sell.

late 490's also had longer scrapers like a 496, no doubt a 496 is alot better, it's the 6 to 8K difference that has kept me from owning one yet
