John Deere DR-A wheat drill

Hi All,
I've never posted on here before, normally just on the JD page.
I have a co-worker who is looking at possibly buying a DR-A grain drill, and who knows as much about it as I do (nothing).
Can anyone tell me any info on them, like years built, can it be used for all types of grain/seed, what to look for in the way of problems, approximate value in "working" condition, etc. I do know that it is a 16X10, single disc, press wheels, hand lift.
Sorry, don't have any pictures I can post. Machine looks pretty used.
Thanks for any and all info.

DR-A will be a grain only drill that is a double-run feed. Double-run feed is more precise but is more difficult to set amount of seed than a fluted-feed type. Drill should be green box with yellow curved lids.
