The centerline of draft on a pull type plow is one half the width of cut PLUS one-fourth the width of one bottom to the left of center. On a 2-12" plow this would be 15" from the furrow wall. Being this is too narrow for most tractors you will have to offset the hitch. Usually this is done by splitting the offset equally (or close to it) on the tractor hitch and the plow hitch. For instance, if the minimum tread of your tractor is 56" and it has 10" wide tires on it, the closest you can set the rear wheels is 46" apart or 1/2 of this being 23". If you subtract the 15" requirement from the 23" minimum you have 8". You then would split the 8" in two and offset the tractor hitch 4" and the plow hitch 4". This should get you where you need to be. Your plow will pull much easier and straighter if you follow these guidelines. Mike
