John Deere 4FD Moldboard Plow - Coulters

I posted a message in the John Deere forum about my recently acquired John Deere 4FD moldboard plow with some photographs. My post dealt with a roll-over problem that I have since resolved.

I want to restore this plow to as close to original as possible. I am lacking the four coulter discs and the mounting brackets for the coulters. Pictures of the side view of the plow with the coulters and the parts listing for the 20" coulters follow. Any help in finding such parts or samples that I can use for patterns would be helpful.

Don't know what part of the country you are in but you could call Gary's Implement in Bridgeport, Nebraska, they are on the internet. May have what you are looking for. I have bought from them years ago.

The person that I purchased the JD 4FD deep
tillage plow found one set of coulter discs with
the original bracket assembly in his junk pile...
he thinks that it has been there for at least
thirty years! Fortunately for me, because I now
have a pattern, I can make the other three coulter
bracket assemblies to the same specifications as
the originals. The original hub assembly from
John Deere is no longer available (picture shown).
I found a replacement coulter hub from
agrisupply.com (picture shown) that is a four hole
hub with a 3/4" shaft. It surely is not the same
degree of quality as the John Deere part but it is
the only suitable replacement that I could find.
Now that I have a pattern, I can move forward.
