Anyone here ever bought any chain from crazy ken the farmers friend a man I work with bought in on of his flyer very cheap i bet it made in china or some other sub standard country web site www.farmchains.com

I bought American chain from a local independent
farm supply store. Sure was nice to have him
around.

I generally go out of my way to buy US Drives chain, generally from a Deere dealer. When you have an application that needs good chain you WILL see the difference.

Pretty much all china chain at thr local suppliers around here.

Bought some boxed John Deere chain for the planter a few years ago, got home and it said 'made in china' on the JD box.

For roller chain I only use Diamond roller chain. It is US made and will out last the imported Chinese stuff two to one. I get it through John Day as I am a dealer. Shoup keeps Drives US made chain.

I have had too many things torn up when a roller chain comes off under load to use the light imported stuff.

You've got to challenge your dealer a bit... I know a lot of it IS the cheap china stuff that's basically made from 44w... but if you ask and make them search a bit they will find that Deere has US made chain available. Stuff I get is Deere branded but their parts info tells them it's made in the US by Drives.
As JDSeller noted... it is also available at Shoup... and Diamond is also very good chain.
The Germans also used to make very good chain unless they've also become so efficient that they've farmed it out.
Most of the old reliable's like Reynold, Rex and Tsubacki are all junk now tho....

That's the point i was making its made in china we have a industral supply house where i get my chain they try to get american made most of the time

I called, asked questions, got great help. The chain was the cheapest I could find and seems to be of allright quality (#55 drag chain, doesn't really wear out/stretch much.)
I'd reccomend them.

We replaced the chains on our fox corn head a while back with chains from him they were good quality. Lasted until we replaced the chopper this year.
