Need to identify a plow

saved this plow and a pull type disk from being scrap iron. Bought them off of a trailer that was headed to the scrap yard. Need to idenify the plow so I can get a manual and learn how to use it. Plan on breaking the garden and small truck patch with it. Also it does"nt have a tail wheel is that common for trailer plows

I would look on the tops of the beams, for stamps, then flip it over, and remove a share, look for a part # cast or stamped into the back of the share. Paint looks red or orange base.

I don't think it's a 44 Tx Jim. 44's all used truss frames rather than the curved beams on this one. They used either a tail wheel or a rolling landside at the back.

I would look for a case eagle on the cast parts. I'm not up on old case plows, but that hitch looks a lot like the ones on case plows.

It looks like an International Harvester plow to me, look for an I H C logo stamped in or cast on various parts. Definitely not a John Deere.

That looks to be an adjustable width plow and only adjustable width that I know of is Coop and it is not a Coop

Thanks for correcting my "Oldtimers"

I agree with arron, Appears to be an AC plow, that is missing its tail wheel, Definitely not a case plow, Case plows are all stamped on the top of the frame with the word CASE also the correct color for a case plow would be mostly a dark green color and yellow wheels

Some of the AC plows did not have a tail wheel. If I get the chance, I'll dig out my plow parts book and try to figure out which one it is.

This is defendantly not a jd 44. I have 9 different jd plows from the number 4 up to an f160. Most plows i have ever looked at were marked either on the frame, the trip casting or on the wheel hubs.

Dug my book out. looks a LOT like an AC #2. The hitch matches the parts book for the no tail wheel plow, the beam looks identical, the spoke wheels are the same, as are the caps with the square head on the axles. Should have LTP or HTP cast into some of the bigger parts. AC also painted the moldboard number on the back side. They also had a somewhat unique way of holding the shares on with a long j bolt. A picture of the back side of a moldboard and how the share mounts as well as a good one of the trip lift would help a lot.
