david1 12-08-2012 12:21:54 184.5.147.147 Report to Moderator	I have this baler and it has 2 springs oner it and both are broken . one is about 2 inches long and it holds a part that goes up thru a slot in the bale chamber. The other one is about 4 inches and is may have something to do with a rod tha runs along as a saftey for the needles maybe. Should I wait to have them before I try and run some hay thru to see if the knotters are working? thanks [Reply]   [No Email]

The 2" spring is probably a hay dog spring which helps hold hay back from twine that helps during tying cycle. The longer spring sounds as if it's a plunger head stop spring which protects high $$$$ needles from breaking. [Reply]  [No Email]

If the one is what I think your saying running it with out it could cause the needles to get broken and that is a big big $$$ out I know I learned the hard way and did not check the plunger safety spring on my old 14T and that is why it was parted out [Reply]  [No Email]
