so all i have ever used is a finishing disc 9-16ft with 7-8 inch spacing and 16-18 inch discs. what are some similar sized models that are heavy with 9-10inch spacing and big blades that will handle todays corn yields? any recommendations? i like my white 252 16ft disc ok but wish it was heavier. also does notched blades make a difference ? and would you want both front and back notched or just the front?

I have a 252,15' wide. It does ok in stalks.I have to do 2-sometimes 3 passes to suffiently 'chop' stalks. For best results, use a stalk chopper.BTW,my IH #642 (4x16) and IH#314(3x14)with coverboards do a very good job of covering.

I like my disc ok but it is a finish disc. It does need a few blades, would I gain any thing by putting notched blades on the front?
