JohnS1970 11-26-2012 18:18:49 74.15.242.75 Report to Moderator	I"ve been plowing at home the past couple of days and I have a couple of fields that have a limestone ridge in them that lie just before the surface. I"m plowing with a 555 with safety trip standards that I"ve felt have always taken excessive force to trip and occasionally I"ll break a share. I bought the plow a year ago last spring and tore all the trip standards apart, removed all rust and reassembled with never-seize, so everything is free and lubricated. There is only one tubular shim in the bottoms. Nothing was badly worn when I had it all apart and I took up the slack with the cam when I reassembled them. Is there something I can do to lower the tripping force more or is there something I"ve overlooked? The bottoms will trip if I hit a rock and I reduce my speed when I come to these ridges but sometimes I hook the rock just so and it breaks the share. I"m currently using what JD calls a heavy duty share and I had seen where there was an extra heavy duty share available but it is no longer available. Any ideas or advice is appreciated. But JD replaced my share with a new one. I believe if they are less than 50% worn, they will replace broken/bent shares. My 555 & 620 plows almost never trip either and they have only the single shims. Al [Reply]  [No Email]
