Rick,I have a question for you,my NH 570 is breaking knots. It is tying them perfect and coming off the billhook but the twine is hanging on the twinefinger and will break at the knot when the next charge of hay pushes back, when I dont load it up it will work fine, guess it has time to slide off the twine finger. Have you ever run into this problem?

I have had that problem on many different balers. If its what I think it is,there should be a tension setting on that twine finger that could be ever so SLIGHTLY backed off a little, and it should tell all about it in the book

I don't understand what is happening. The knot and twine are to the rear of the twine fingers and if the fingers are returning properly after delivering the #2 twine to the billhook, they don't contact the twine or the finished knot. Is the part you are clling the twine finger actually the knife arm?

Yes the finished twine after it is whiped off the billhook by the wiper arm and it will hang sometime on the twine finger right in front of the bolt that holds the twine finger on. I went today and adjusted the twine finger to the right a little more until it was in the slot that the needles come up through and it looks like that fixed it. The wiper arm is pulling the twine over far enough and it was hanging on the twine finger and the wiper is adjusted to about 3/8 inch past the billhook, makes me wonder if maybe the knotter has worn enough and it needs to be shimmed over to the right a little.
