Deere 44H questions

I picked up an immaculate 44H plow with no repairs and original paint, I think it's a 2x14? 13 1/2" between the frames. where can I get replacement shares for it, and what size cylinder will work? 3x8? thanks.

Any of the early JD cyls will work. The style with the adjustable stop rods on the sides or the later GREEN ones with the small built in auto stop or shut off. That plow is not that heavy for retraction, they will all work.. Shares, JD, or advertise as they are still avail all over. Call Tyler Buchheit ,1-573-768-4092 he will or will know where.

A medium frane measures 13" and with the beams turned out it is a 14" but with them turned in it is a 12", large frame 15" and either 14" or 16" and small frame that there is not many of them around is 11" for a 10" cut or a 12" cut. They were figured for the B tractors and the "B" cylinder is 2 1/2" while the "A" cylinder is 3 1/2" and for the 16" version most were used behind an A tractor and 8" is correct length but you need a depth stop cylinder as the plow has no depth control but the cylinder. Any diameter as long as your tractor has enough pressure will work but the smaller the cylinder the faster it will raise and the larger the slower it will raise.

Looks like you must have a 45 or 46 B with the high speed tranny if you want to put a hydrolic lift plow behind it and if the tractor has the orignal engine in it for to pull that plow you will have to have very easy plowing ground as that plow would ordinarly be used behind a late model B with 28 HP and not your model with 20HP. The same bottom is used for the 10", 12", and 14" cut plows and pulls harder than the 12" cut bottom that was on the No. 52 plow that was commonly used behind that tractor. That 52 was what I had behind a 46 B and it was all low gear plowing. I did have the power trol on my tractor and the cast wheels for weight and still had 300#+ concrete on each rear wheel. We had converted the 52 plow to hydrolic lift before I had that tractor as we had it behing a 49 B to start with that followed a 38 A and that 52 plow was bought new by a neighbor with a 39 B that had the lower gearing but same power you have.

It looks like there is only 1 handle on that plow...or is the 2nd one hiding behind the first?

Why would there be a second. All you need is one for the tilt. The cylinder controls depth.

it's a '41 bored out to take late B pistons, I don't intend on using the plow with the tractor, I just display them together. I was looking for a rope trip but this one was too nice to pass up.
