Anyone know where I can rent a rock picker in northwest IA, southwest MN, or southeast SD? I can get a rock bucket for a skid loader in Sioux Center. Anyone use one of these? How well do they work? Thanks. |

Sometimes local soil conservation districts rent out similar equipment, don't know if any local to you do.

Lots of skidloader rock buckets are designed to hold already picked rocks inside, with either a curved portion of the tines, retaining bar, etc. You can rent those with a rotary reel to push the rocks inside, gouging the ground less. Also a new design with a hydraulic rotating screen bucket (google robo rock picker). I use a manure fork with grapple, and to get smaller rocks, use a slip-on screen using 4 inch screen from a rock crusher. Holds smaller rocks in place and lets the dirt sift through. I plan to add a rotary tine system to sweep the rocks in, rather than push them along.

You can get a rock bucket for a skid steer? Does that mean you already have a skid steer? If so, use the manure fork. You can adjust it to pick up any size rock you want.

I don,t have a big enough skid loader, so I would have to rent one. Would prefer a rock picker to pull with tractor, but can't find one to rent.

I"m looking to purchase or rent a rock picker also. I have a rockhound for my Bobcat, but I need something to do 5 acres and preferably pull with my tractor.
