Case 6x14 pull plow in 8 year old sod, pulled by a 600 Case. Tractor is moving in pic, notice no soot in exhaust. Plow day 11-04-12, Blooming Prairie MN

Great pic!! The A model Case's are some of the best plows ever mad. I am interested in how it is hitched for onland. Does it pull easier than in the furrow? I always thought it would help. Of course I know this only works on bigger plows.

plows are doing a great job.

wish i could get to plow land like that, I always have garden filth to cover and the plows stay plugged up 1/2 the time, which sucks the fun out of plowing.

is that old (rover the dog) walking along beside you on the right side.

Tractordata doesn't list the hp of a Case 600, while a 14 inch bottom takes less power than the 16 or 18 inch bottoms I'm familiar with, you couldn't pull a 6 bottom plow without duals or mfwa in my dirt. I've got 150 hp on a 4-18 plow, and it takes all of it in some hard clay.... What kind of power do those tractors have?

Nice pic, thanks for sharing. My plowing is 'functional', not ever been confused with pretty like yours.

The rover is Miss Jane. She followed me plowin for 2 days plowin. She is by my side 100 percent of the day or nite. Aussie dogs can be/are very loyal.

Thanks Don that would be interesting to see. That six is a great plow. I have an A model 5-16 but it is a little narrower 80 inches

I pulled a Case A series 5 x 16 earlier that day in furrow. Better footing on land, needed with the bigger plow. Tractor weighs 10,500 or so.
I just put a $135.00 muffler on it. Very very quiet it was. Seven main bearings to hold the crankshaft is a plus too at 1500 rpm. Clean burn folks, the tractor is moving.

Don,
I had to do a double take on your picture. When you posted what you were driving, I figured a 6 bottom had to be pulled at least by a 1370. I didn't know it was a 6 14's plow. Still that is a lot of plow. I am shocked that the 600 could pull it. But then again, the 600 is heck of a beast of a tractor too. LOL Thanks for the pics.

You mean you can actually use a tractor at 1500 rpm holy cow if I even think of saying 1500 rpm you would think I had committed murrder

Nice shot! I"m no farmer but I don"t beleve I"ve ever seen anyone plow without the tractor wheels "in the furrow".

In 2nd gear right?? Center of draft would be between 3rd and 4th bottom. Have to try the onland trick with my 500. Bet you surprised a lot of guys!! Second gear must still be close to 4 mph.

Most plows nowadays are "onland" where you can run duals on the tractor pulling the plow. The wider the plow the more you move the tractor to the center of the draft, so you need to keep moving the tractor out of the furrow to the center.
6 bottoms is all the larger you really would plow in the furrow, all the bigger plows are onland.

Yup, I was plowing some stuff last year with 130 hp in a 14,000 lb tractor with mfwd, on 3 bottoms. The plow was widened out to about 18-20" and running fairly deep in dry ground. It would spin out in 2wd.

Looks like good loose relatively easy plowing ground, as opposed to heavy slabs where it could pull twice as hard.

Don are you right along 218 just north of Austin? I know theres a place there that has a bunch of tractors and implements on the west side of the road. Always wanted to stop by but never had a chance.

That looks like a rebadged Oliver/White plow. I know later on you could buy White plows with Case and Ford paint on them, they were a good plow, we had two sets.
