Small Square Baler

Has anyone heard of a pony baler? It was a square baler that made small squares. I'm looking for for a baler to make 12" x 12" square bales.

Its a new Holland 65 compact baler,it makes a 12 x12 by what ever length you want.works good.what's the reasoning you,re looking for one? I used mine for the forth crop, with the small window bales have a better chance to breath.would sell mine if interested.

Where are you at and how much? My brother wants one to make mini straw bales to sell with his pumpkins. He's in Kaukauna (between Appleton and Green Bay)

You might want to recheck your tape measure. A NH 65 will make a 12" x 16" bale by whatever length that you want. A Ford 520 will also make a 12" x 16" x whatever length. Other standard balers will either be 14" x 18" (most common) or 16" X 18" (less common).
Lastly there is a minimum length that applies to the bale length that most balers can make so even my statement of whatever length you want is an exaggeration.

There is a company that retrofits older New Holland balers with reduced size bale chambers in order to make them make the tiny bales for festivals - forget name but has been in Farmshow mag several times. Also if you can find one foreign companies like Microstar and Haystar other brands that specialize in making balers for itty bitty little tractors then you might get lucky going that route but those excotic tiny balers are 15k or more new and I have yet to see a used one.

My Son design and built A small NH baler. He bales lots of hay and an expert on NH bales. These may be smaller than the ones you wanted.
He has to tie them by hand.
He has red cap on.

I just happened upon this site today & thought of your message - perhaps someone can figure out what baler this is from the pics, makes a 11x9 bale?

Thanks guys! I think the baler I'm looking for is the New Holland 65 with the 12x16 chamber. I appreciate your help.

A couple of Amish shops around New Holland Pa. will remake a 273 NH to make those small bales. I think its for people selling ornamental display bales etc. Or rabbit, guinea pig hay. From what I understand it can be a large market if you get inwith the right buyers. I know it cost atleast 3,000 in labor/machine work + the cost of a baler to be refitted. They mainly rebale loose hay/straw with them , not go out and bale in the field. To me those bales don't look all that good. I can put you intouch if you are serious.

i never took a tape too it,makes more sense that their 12x 14 or 16.If he interested call me 414313-1109.just used it this fall.works good not sure what its worth? If interested i,ll be picking up a round baler in reedsville of off 10.any where near you at all don? steve

Hwy 10 is just a couple miles from the farm. You'll end up going through 2 round-a-bouts and the second one (crosses 55) is closest. About 2 or 3 miles North from there. We buy hay from the equity auctions in reedsville once in a while. He's been telling me I should try making one for him for the last few years. I'm too busy with my own projects to worry about his.

I can pass on the info to my brother - he's in Memphis until the 26th or so and then he flies out in a few weeks again for another 3 weeks or so.

What town are you in? 414 suggests south-eastern WI?
